PLC Course (SIEMENS PCS7, WINCC)

Introduction
The course starts with basic principles and builds your skills up to a final where you will able design, build, and program an industrial project. This practical course gives learners the confidence they need in the workplace when working with PLC systems.
Course Outline

Lecture 1,2 and 3

  • Introduction to PLCs.
  • Number systems. (Decimal system, Binary System, BCD, Hexadecimal, conversion, Review)
  • Terminology used (Sensor, actuator, DI, DO, AI, AO, NC, NO)
  • PLC Models, features, mode, PLC Expansion, Inputs/outputs, AND/OR operation.
  • Wiring/ programing (Example Motor start/stop/latching)
  • Basic Concept (Analog in/output concept, Timer, Counter)
  • Communication and Review

Lecture 4,5 and 6

  • Basic to PLC hardware (Models, Hardware/ ordering code, adding hardware in program, simple program (compile/download/PLCSim).
  • Basic programming (bit logic) from pdf (STEP_7_-_Ladder_Logic_for_S7-300_and_S7-400) NO,NC,AND/OR gates, NOT, coil, midline output, set. reset output, flip-flop (set-reset), -ive/+ive edge).
  • Timers (pulse, extendent, on delay, retentive on delay, off delay), Counters (down, up, up & down) with comparator (equal, greater than, lesser than, etc) (integer, double, floating), move and Conversion instruction (L5&L6).
  • Mathematical integer function integer and double integer, addition, subtraction.
  • Analogue signal input scaling /output upscaling (2wire or 4 wire) (example pressure trx 4-20mA, range 0-100Pa).
 

Lecture 7,8 and 9

  • Creating New project in PCS7 and simulation in WinCC.
  • Hardware, network configurations.
  • Introduction to PCS7 AP library blocks. Explanation to Function blocks.
  • Operating station compilation.
  • Faceplates of motor, valve, PID, DRIVE understanding.
  • Inserting hierarchy folders with multi screens.
  • CFC objects, (blocks & templates) graphic designs library.
  • Multiple Screen Graphic designs/modifications.
  • Objects and Linking hardware (input/outputs) to faceplates. Symbol list (Tag list assigning)

Lecture 10,11 and 12

  • Use of drivers/blocks
  • Input, output, interlocks (understanding of process, safety etc interlocks)
  • Block properties (Interlocks texture, values, unit display) share advance process library.pdf
  • WinCC animations
  • Designing Input and outputs events
  • Creating and Configuring Screens.
  • Multiple Windows and IO fields.
  • Alarms, handling and trending.
  • Bar graph, analog meter, movements and detail animation.
  • Data logging.
Prerequisites
  • Basic knowledge of PLCs and industrial automation concepts
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems.
